Tyler, together with guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton and drummer Joey Kramer, formed Aerosmith in New Hampshire in the US, in 1970. They signed to Columbia and released their first album in 1973, very quickly making it into the super group league. This particular album, "Toys in the Attic", spent two years on the Billboard charts, and "Walk this way" was a huge hit for them. Perry left the band in 1980, his replacement being Jimmy Crespo. He rejoined Aerosmith in 1984 and they've retained their reputation as one of the US's biggest concert attractions.
