The New Trolls are an Italian
classical/jazz/blues/progressive
outfit whose r oots appear to go
back to the sixties, although the
only information we have about
them is in either Japanese or
Korean, the reason for this being
that their earlier material was
only released on CD by Japanese or
Korean companies! (well, as far as
we know, at any rate!). They were
an incredibly interesting band, e
ffortlessly combining jazz,
classical, blues and progressive
rock in the most ingenious ways.
They continued to record into the
eighties and nineties, and, as can
be expected, their style changed
somewhat to suit the times. We
know of at least fourteen albums
by this very good band, their
earlier ones being by far their
best. We don't know if they're
still around today or not. Their
albums are pretty hard to come by,
but they're worth sourcing via
some of the better o verseas mail
order companies.
