Austrian born blues guitarist
Garstenauer started playing guitar
at the age of 14 and had his own
band by the age of 15, his main
influences being Johnny Winter and
Stevie Ray Vaughan. His current
band evolved from "The Rhythm
Gangsters", a band that were
spotted by none other than the
great Bugs Henderson ( Nitzinger
). Henderson was so impressed with
the young Austrian that he asked
him to jam with his band during an
Austrian tour. Garstenauer in turn
reciprocated, and Henderson
features on this first album. Many
modern blues guitarists have been
influenced by the great Stevie
Ray, and many tend to sound like a
cheap carbon copy of the great
man. Garstenauer is not one of
those "me too" clones. He has his
own style and a great voice, as
well as a good backing band. One
to look out for.
